BIO

Eleanor Stephenson is an experienced educator and program leader with a background in Teaching English as a Second or Other Language (TESOL). With almost 15 years of experience in higher education and K-12 education, she brings a deep understanding of learner-centered pedagogy and a focus on clarity, empathy, and connection to the role of Coordinator for Academic Partnerships. In her current role, Eleanor oversees academic programming for the Tutoring Center, including the Supplemental Instruction program and the Tutoring Center’s academic workshops.  

Eleanor holds a master's degree in applied Linguistics from Georgia State University and a bachelor’s degree in French from Agnes Scott College. Her education and professional experiences inform her approach to her work - she is passionate about inclusive and equitable academic practices, incorporating metacognitive strategies, and enhancing student engagement and learning outcomes. 

Outside of work, Eleanor enjoys spending time with her husband and two daughters. During the glorious Vermont summers, you can find her most often on the shores of Lake Champlain, and during the snowy winters, you can find her skiing (or après-skiing) with her family at Bolton. She also enjoys the solitude of gardening, writing, and creating. She is also the published author of a children’s book; Our Hearts Can Soar.
