:: How It Works

Throughout the year the Registrar's Office works in conjunction with academic departments across campus to create the schedule of courses for each upcoming semester. The course building process begins well in advance of the start of each term. Classes offered in the Fall begin being developed in early January, Spring classes in early August, and Summer classes in early October.

As the beginning of the course building process draws closer, our office sends out an email to departmental staff announcing training opportunities and providing updates & general information about the process.

A guide has been created to help you through the course building process. Instructions are located in the Schedule of Courses Reports section of Faculty SIS (Faculty Menu in the portal).

August 3, 2015 at 8:00AM SWCSCHD opens to departments
September 8, 2015 at 8:00AM Dean's Office access turned on (department access off)
September 21, 2015 at 8:00AM Registrar's Office begins review (dean access off)
October 2, 2015 See Also's due from Arts & Sciences
October 6-7, 2015 Department proofing
October 9, 2015 Faculty begin loading Expanded Section Descriptions
October 9-23, 2015 Classroom scheduling
October 26, 2015 Schedule of Courses posted online; faculty can issue overrides and add TAs to Blackboard
October 26-30, 2015 Dean's Offices review classroom assignments
November 2-6, 2015 Faculty review classroom assignments
November 16, 2015 Registration begins
