The following Transfer Guide indicates the way courses have transferred to the University of Vermont in the past. This information is constantly being updated and does not substitute for an official evaluation of transfer credit by the Office of Transfer Affairs.

All credits earned or attempted and all grades received in college-level courses at accredited institutions are evaluated by Transfer Affairs once a transfer student has been admitted to the University of Vermont. Transfer courses are evaluated by the University of Vermont on a course-by-course basis.

Transfer work does not affect the University of Vermont grade point average.
All credit granted will be calculated in semester hours. Quarter credits are converted to semester credits by multiplying by 2/3. For any other questions regarding credit conversion, please contact the Office of Transfer Affairs.
Courses must be taken for credit and only courses with grades of "C" or better will be considered for credits to transfer. Pass/Fail, Satisfactory, or grades below "C" are not acceptable.
Courses with 0XX, 1XX, XXX designations indicate that the credit(s) have transferred but with no specific course comparability at UVM. Students must contact their Dean's Offices to determine if these courses can be used to fulfill requirements.

FOR CURRENTLY ENROLLED UNDERGRADUATE DEGREE STUDENTS AT UVM:

In order to GUARANTEE that non-UVM courses transfer into UVM, students must contact the Transfer Affairs office and complete a Domestic Transfer Credit Approval Form before the courses are taken. When the courses have been completed, students must have an official transcript from the host institution sent directly to Transfer Affairs.
In all cases, the student's Dean's Office determines the applicability of transfer courses to the student's program of study.
