Exam Proctoring Center Student Usage Contract
Exam accommodations are available at the Exam Proctoring Center for
Students who have enrolled with ACCESS for the semester
International Students identified as English Language Learners
TRiO Students identified as English Language Learners
Students granted temporary use
Use of the Exam Proctoring Center is contingent on your adherence to the University of Vermont's Code of Academic Integrity and these Proctoring Rules.
Violation may result in loss of use.
ACCESS Students must obtain accommodation letters from their ACCESS Specialist at the beginning of the semester.
If you choose to use the Exam Proctoring Center for testing, you must deliver your letter(s) to your Instructor(s) and obtain their permission to do your testing at the Exam Proctoring Center.
Your Instructor may choose to provide your accommodation at a place other than the Exam Proctoring Center.
International and TRiO Students must be identified as English Language Learners and have their Instructor's permission to use the EPC
Students wanting temporary use of the EPC must contact the ASP Services Manager and must have their Instructor's permission to use the EPC
You must schedule each semester test and final exam with the Exam Proctoring Center and arrange exam delivery and return with your instructor.
Semester tests must be scheduled one (1) week in advance
Final Exams must be scheduled two (2) weeks in advance
Tests should be scheduled online at uvm.edu/epc
Please indicate the length of the test / quiz in class if it is not a full period test.
Schedule your tests at the time your class meets if possible; schedule your finals according to the schedule published by the Registrar's Office.
If your schedule does not permit that, discuss with your instructor the need to take the test at a different time and obtain his/her permission to do so.
Inform the EPC of any special proctoring needs, e.g., Reader, Scribe, Computer, etc, when you schedule a test.
"Private Room" is an explicit accommodation, not a default. Most students have an accommodation of "Quiet Room" which means you will be placed in a carrel if one is available.
During Final Exams, "Quiet Room" may mean you will be in a classroom as carrels are assigned on a "first come, first served" basis; there is no accommodation of "Carrel".
Only items permitted by your instructor are allowed in the test room.
Food, water, coats, hats, and backpacks are not allowed in the test room.
POSSESSION OF AN ELECTRONIC DEVICE (iPod, Cell Phone, etc.) IN THE TEST ROOM IS CONSIDERED EVIDENCE OF CHEATING!
Your test will be immediately confiscated and your Professor will be notified for possible disciplinary action.
Arrive for your test on time. If you are late, you may not have your entire time allotment or may have to reschedule.
Exams will be returned to faculty by EPC courier unless your instructor explicitly states otherwise when sending the test to the EPC. Tests completed after 3:30 pm are returned by courier the next morning.
Please call the EPC if you decide not to take your test at the scheduled time.
Respect the rights of others in the testing room. Refrain from making unnecessary noise; report any distraction to EPC staff.
