The script in any play is often called "the bible."  This is the most important part of any play as everything stems from it.  The actors will have nothing to say, the designers will have no clue what to design, and the director can't even begin to make decisions.  I feel that the curriculum, lesson plans, and standards are a lot like the script.  Without these items, there is nothing to start from.
