On Veterans Day, UVM will host several public events in commemoration of those who have served and sacrificed for the country. At a 9 a.m. Roll Call ceremony held on the Davis Center Green, a color guard will post the colors, and the names of those service members killed in action in the past year will be read aloud. The event will also include remarks from student veterans and from David Carlson, coordinator of student veterans services at UVM.
From 1:45 to 3 p.m. a celebration and reception will be held in Waterman Memorial Lounge. This public event follows a private president's luncheon for UVM veterans. (UVM veterans who have not received an invitation can contact Bess Malson-Huddle: 02ehuddl@uvm.edu.)
And from 3 to 5 p.m., UVM Veteran Services will host an information session in Memorial Lounge, where visitors can learn what UVM is doing to support student veterans, a growing population on campus, and their success. Prospective students are welcome.
The day's events are sponsored by the Student Veterans Organization and the Student Government Association.
