The University of Vermont is pleased to announce the hiring of Blake Reilly as Executive Director of the Center for Health and Wellbeing (CHWB) following the successful conclusion of a national search.

Reilly comes to UVM from Bates College in Maine, where he served as Associate Dean of Students and Director of Operations and Administration. His experience includes roles in Residence Life, Public & Student Health, and the Dean of Students office. A committed educator, he has also taught Health Education and Promotion, among other related subjects, at Johns Hopkins University.

“We are delighted to welcome Blake to UVM and thrilled to add his experience, skills, and vision to the CHWB leadership team,” said Erica Caloiero, Vice Provost for Student Affairs. “Blake’s commitment to student-centered, holistic health fits seamlessly with the university’s vision to prioritize wellbeing as a vital component of a healthy campus community.”

Reilly brings with him a plan for improved efficiency and effectiveness for CHWB. In addition to integrating services, he will work on space dedicated to fostering comprehensive wellbeing by addressing physical, mental, and emotional health needs, as well as greater implementation of data-driven decision making and expanding capacity for listening, feedback, and improvement.

“I am passionate about optimizing student success and designing support initiatives that recognize the ways in which students today are different from even a few years ago,” Reilly said. “I am grateful for the opportunity to join such a committed team at a university so clearly dedicated to providing the best possible care and support to all members of its community. I can’t wait to get started.”

Reilly will begin in his new role on July 22.
