Former Vermont Catamount Patrick Sharp, of the defending Stanley Cup champion Chicago Blackhawks, was named the MVP of the 2011 NHL All-Star Game. In his All-Star Game debut Sunday night, he registered a goal and two assists for Team Staal, which lost 11-10 to Team Lidstrom. Fellow former UVM standouts Tim Thomas, of the Boston Bruins, and Martin St. Louis, of the Tampa Bay Lightning, were also selected to the NHL All-Star Game.
