It's easy for a student to change their accept/decline decision on a loan or to request an increase/decrease of their loan amount.
Provided that there is available funding and a student has eligibility, they may request to accept a previously declined loan or increase a loan up to the initial amount offered during a loan period.
Loans cannot be increased or accepted after a loan period has ended. Loan decreases/cancelations may be requested within 180 days of the loan being fully disbursed to the UVM student account.
How to submit Loan Change Requests:
- Incoming students (up until the Friday before classes start): Submit by email to sfs@uvm.edu
- Current Students: Submit using the online Loan Change Request Form
