What does Cost of Attendance really mean? Cost of attendance (COA) is the total cost for you to attend UVM each year, before financial aid. COA includes the following billable costs: tuition, fees, food, and housing. It also includes the following indirect costs: books, course materials, supplies and equipment and personal and miscellaneous, transportation, and loan fee expenses. The indirect costs listed are estimates used in determining financial aid eligibility. Your actual expenses will vary.
What is Net Cost? Your net cost is the actual cost you will pay to attend UVM. You calculate it by taking the COA and subtracting any scholarships, and/or tuition remission you’ve received. You can’t know for sure how much UVM will cost you until you apply for financial aid and receive an aid offer.
