James has spent his career helping to tell clear and impactful stories about complex topics. This includes work as as a producer and reporter for National Public Radio affiliate station WAMU 88.5 FM in Washington, DC. And it includes years of consulting and multimedia production through his company ExpertsClearly for organizations such as the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, the American Chemical Society's Green Chemistry Institute, and Yale University's Center for Green Chemistry & Green Engineering.
Most recently, James served for nearly 10 years as a lead workshop facilitator for the Alan Alda Center for Communicating Science. In this role, James ran hundreds of workshops for participants of all ages and experience levels at institutions such as NASA, the U.S. E.P.A., the Broad Institute, Toyota, IBM, and universities across the country.
James graduated from Northwestern University with a B.A. in Economics, but it was his venture into theater and writing courses at Northwestern that would set the stage for his later work. He earned an M.B.A. from The George Washington University.
