Currently, we are supporting rural capacity building through supporting a variety of partnerships meant to amplify the way communities are led and managed in Vermont. We are supporting, for the second year, the Vermont Local Government Institute, which provides critical professional development training to town managers and administrators from across Vermont. This cohort-based model is the product of a partnership between UVM’s Professional and Continuing Education (PACE) program and the Vermont League of Cities and Towns.
To learn more about the Vermont Local Government Institute, please reach out to Maureen Hebert at maureen.hebert@uvm.edu.
We also support a variety of projects exploring state-wide improvements to address rural capacity challenges, including the Vermont Evaluation of Rural Technical Assistance study, which is supported by a Leahy Institute Partnership Grant, as well as forthcoming collaborations on community needs assessments and regional governance.
If you are interested in exploring partnerships that address rural capacity challenges in Vermont, please reach out to Emma Spett at emma.spett@uvm.edu.
