BIO
Youngjea joined the OIE in 2026 as an International Student and Scholar Advisor. Youngjea helps international students and scholars navigate immigration processes, find campus support, and settle into life and study in the United States. Originally from South Korea, Youngjea spent nearly eight years in Australia, completed high school and earned a bachelor's degree in communications from Queensland University of Technology in Brisbane. Youngjea’s experience living and studying abroad motivates him to support students and help them feel welcome in the United States and succeed in their studies. Before joining the OIE, Youngjea worked as an international student advisor at Virginia Tech and is now looking forward to a new challenge in Vermont. Outside of work, Youngjea enjoys cooking and blogging about his favorite baseball team.
