Matt Manz
Assistant Director for Education Abroad
BIO
Matt is the Assistant Director for Education Abroad, and joined the OIE in 2025 after ten years working in Student Services in UVM’s College of Engineering and Mathematical Sciences. Matt leads the Office of International Education's Study Abroad team. Matt earned his undergraduate degree in Spanish, with a Minor in Film Studies, from St. Lawrence University in 2008, and earned his master’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from UVM in 2018. Matt studied abroad in Madrid his junior year of college, and reflects often on the joys, challenges, independence, and personal growth that the experience afforded him. He returned to Spain several years ago to walk the first part of the Camino de Santiago, and looks forward to returning soon to finish the rest of it. In his free time, Matt enjoys spending time with family (including his pets!), cheering for the Boston Red Sox, and spending time outdoors.
