The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner Internship (OCME) application for UVM undergraduates, recent grads, and PBPM's is facilitated by FOUR. This unfunded internship provides students with direct exposure to the day-to-day activities of the OCME. This is a highly competitive opportunity with limited space, which means students may need to apply more than one time. Applications from first year students will not be accepted. We encourage students from any academic path to apply.

The Application Process has multiple reviews. The application comes to FOUR, which reviews the submissions, and submits the most qualified students from the pool of applicants to the State of Vermont Medical Examiner for further review. Being selected by UVM does NOT guarantee acceptance into the program.

The Internship program requires students to have two weekday mornings (8am-12pm) available during the term for which you apply.

It is the mission of the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner (OCME) to ensure superior death investigations in a system that will operate efficiently and serve the needs of the citizens of Vermont.
