The Graduate College is pleased to present Fat and flow: elucidating the link between obesity and asthma, a lecture by Professor Anne E. Dixon to be held on Tuesday, January 31, 2023, at 4:30 PM in MedEdCenter 200 (Sullivan Classroom).

Lecture description: Obesity is a major risk factor for asthma and is associated with severe, difficult-to-control disease; people with obesity and asthma have a nearly 5-fold risk of hospitalization compared with lean people with asthma. This lecture will highlight some of the studies performed at the Vermont Lung Center that have helped elucidate reasons for the link between obesity and asthma and spearhead the development of new approaches to target this patient population.
