Education
Hospitalists serve as teaching attendings for the General Medicine, Medical Oncology, and Consult Medicine teaching teams throughout the year, offering clinical supervision, bedside education,
lectures, and evaluation to resident physicians and medical students. Faculty also mentor and
advise residents and medical students on career choices and residency match options.
Many of our hospitalist faculty are leaders in education throughout the medical school and
residency program. Their roles include Vice Chair for Education, Director and Associate Director of both the inpatient clerkship and acting internship, Course Director for undergraduate medical
education, and residency Associate Program Director. Faculty also facilitate several undergraduate medical education group sessions.
Residency Program
The University of Vermont Larner College of Medicine and its main, on-campus tertiary care teaching hospital, The University of Vermont Medical Center, offer a program designed to prepare physicians for ABIM certification.
