Christi Wojewoda, MD, is a Professor on the Clinical Scholar Track at the Larner College of Medicine at the University of Vermont. She has served in roles such as the Director of the Clinical Microbiology Laboratory for UVM Medical Center and UVM Health and is the Vice Chair for Education for the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine. She is board-certified in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology as well as Medical Microbiology. Her clinical and research interests include regulations in clinical microbiology and test utilization. Dr. Wojewoda is actively engaged in educating medical students, pathology residents and infectious disease fellows in clinical microbiology.


Nationally recognized for regulations in Clinical Microbiology, Dr. Wojewoda has served on committees for the College of American Pathologists (CAP) and contributed to advancing accurate, timely patient results. Her work on the CAP Microbiology Committee earned her the Laboratory Improvement Program Service Award in 2021. Her publications focus on laboratory improvement in clinical microbiology. A dedicated educator, she has received the Pathology Attending Teaching Award and has been nominated for multiple medical student teaching awards. She has developed four Team Based Learning sessions and a microbiology laboratory session for the college of medicine, providing hands-on and didactic training for learners.  


As Director of the Clinical Microbiology Laboratory, Dr. Wojewoda is committed to ensuring accurate and timely patient results, focusing on initiatives such as standardization of testing across the system. Their work emphasizes innovation, collaboration, and service to improve clinical care, advance research, and enhance education.
