University of Vermont announced administrative changes to the UVM 403(b) and 457(b) retirement plans. Effective July 2025, enrollment, employee contribution, and retirement vendor election processes will transition away from paper forms and the UVM’s PeopleSoft self-service portal to the NetBenefits® website, serviced by Fidelity Investments®. These changes aim to make participating in and managing retirement savings easier for investing with Fidelity, TIAA, or both.

On June 16, 2025, at 11:59 p.m. ET, the UVM self-service portal will be decommissioned for retirement savings changes. During this transition, employees will not be able to enroll, change retirement savings contribution amount, or vendor election. Current retirement savings contributions will continue without interruption and retirement savings elections on file will automatically transfer to the NetBenefits website.

One-stop convenience

Starting in July, NetBenefits will be the hub for managing employee retirement account needs. Whether investing with Fidelity, TIAA, or both, the NetBenefits website provides:

  • Enrollment in retirement plans and vendor selection
  • Account balance views
  • Viewing or changing retirement savings contribution amount.
  • Changing retirement vendors, if already enrolled.
  • Access links to retirement vendors to manage investment allocations and beneficiary designations.

All employees will be able to log on to NetBenefits and have access to plan information and quick links.

Employees with accounts at Fidelity will continue to use their current NetBenefits username and password to log on and manage their account. Employees with TIAA accounts will need to create a username and password to be able to access the website. Once logged on, all employees can enroll, view their retirement savings contribution amount and retirement vendor election. Retirement Health Savings Plan administration will still be managed through the PeopleSoft and paper forms.
