Timeline

At UVM, the Catamount LEAP program represents our commitment to modernizing and unifying core systems (Finance, Human Resources, and Student Information). This transformation will improve efficiency, enhance the user experience, and position UVM for long-term success—and it doesn't happen over night.

The Journey So Far

2023 - Initial Review

Body

Conducted discovery of existing enterprise systems and enabling technologies.

Recommended transition to a cloud-based Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) platform for Finance, HR, and Student Information.

2024 - Determining Scope

Body

Spring 2024: Committed to planning for HR System (HCM) replacement; issued Request for Proposals (RFP) for planning services.

Summer 2024: Selected consulting partner (Huron) to assess needs and develop roadmap.

Fall - Winter 2024: Built governance structure; conducted campus-wide discovery sessions; issued Request for Information (RFI) for ERP systems.

2025 - Foundation Building

Body

Spring 2025: Held vendor demos for HCM solutions; gathered stakeholder input; mapped current systems.

Spring - Summer 2025: Established Data Governance Program; trained change management practitioners; confirmed unified platform strategy.

Summer - Fall 2025: Announced Catamount LEAP Program; formalized governance; began planning Request for Proposals (RFP) for unified Finance, HR, and Student Information platform.

Fall 2025: Initiated the Operational Excellence track of Catamount LEAP.

Fall - Winter 2025: Conducted Finance and Student Information System demos; formed vendor selection and operational excellence committees.

2026 & Beyond - Selection & Implementation

  • Evaluate vendor proposals, select ERP platform, and begin phased implementation of Finance, HR, and SIS systems.
  • Continue operational excellence projects and change management initiatives.
