Dataset Overview
The George D. Aiken Forestry Sciences Laboratory, located two miles from UVM’s main campus in South Burlington, is managed by the Rubenstein School and supports research in forest ecology, soil biogeochemistry, entomology, and related fields. The facility includes laboratories, greenhouses, field research areas, and solar panels that generate over 100,000 kWh annually. Originally built in 1973 for the U.S. Forest Service, it became part of UVM in 2013 and now hosts multiple partners, including the Forest Service, the Rubenstein School, and Lake Champlain Sea Grant.
