Vermont students grades 3-9 who are (or who could be!) excited by science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) can now sign up for the Fall 2026 STEM Showcase at the University of Vermont campus. It's scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 7 from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Every semester at UVM, STEM Ambassadors create unique programming based on their majors and interests, which they then present to local youth. Their mission is to share the possibilities of STEM fields through hands-on learning experiences, and to connect Vermont students to UVM resources through on-campus events, such as the bi-annual showcase events.

The 2026 Fall STEM Showcase offers workshops on the following topics:

  • DNA Detectives: Uncovering the Helix
  • Zap! Crackle! Think! Exploring the Nervous System
  • Surviving the Splash: Tsunami Science
  • Power from the Pantry: Building Food Circuits

Interested youth can register online and pick two of the four workshops.

To request language interpretation/translation assistance and/or a disability-related accommodation to participate in this program, please contact Caroline McKelvey at Caroline.McKelvey@uvm.edu as soon as possible.

This program is a collaboration between the College of Engineering and Mathematical Sciences and the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, UVM Extension, and Vermont 4-H. It is a member of the National Engineering Ambassadors Network.
