The NASA TechRise Student Challenge empowers teams of 6th-12th-grade students to design, build, and launch experiments on flights aboard commercial suborbital vehicles.

Guided by an educator, student teams affiliated with U.S. public, private, and charter schools can submit experiment ideas for flight testing. Sixty winning teams will be selected to receive $1500 to build their experiment, technical support from Future Engineers, and an assigned spot for their experiment on a NASA-sponsored flight with an industry provider.

Vermont 4-H'ers have returned home after representing the state at the National 4-H Shooting Sports Championship, held in Grand Island, Nebraska on June 20-26.

The event brought together youth from across the United States to compete in a variety of shooting sports disciplines, while also emphasizing safety, responsibility, leadership, and sportsmanship.

The Vermont delegation demonstrated their skill and dedication, which they developed through months of preparation and training with local 4-H clubs and certified volunteer instructors.

As part of the Oh YEA! (4-H Youth Engaged in Agriculture) grant, a group of Vermont teens participated in a two-night immersive experience at Kimberly Farm in Shaftsbury. Guided by the farm’s motto, “Gallop to Success: Confidence, Self-esteem, Leadership, Compassion,” twelve teens camped on-site in tents and fully engaged in hands-on learning. Throughout the program, they explored horse care and management, practiced leading horses, and had the opportunity to ride, building both practical skills and personal confidence along the way.

The Oh YEA! 4-H initiative is helping to reimagine youth development by expanding outreach and creating pathways for young people to explore careers in agriculture and food systems. Programs like this not only strengthen technical knowledge, but also foster leadership, responsibility, and a deeper understanding of food production and healthy living. Learn more about Oh YEA!

Congratulations to our newest group of 4-H Shooting Sports Rifle Instructors!

This crew recently completed training and are ready to lead safe, engaging shooting sports programs for youth across Vermont. Thank you for your dedication to 4-H!

The Vermont State 4-H Horse Show brought together youth from across the state for a weekend of skill-building, sportsmanship, and connection. Participants showcased their hard work in a variety of classes, demonstrating not only their horsemanship abilities but also their dedication to and passion for their projects.

Congratulations to all who participated and a huge thank you to the many volunteers who made this event possible!
