Forages are a staple of all livestock operations in Vermont. There are a wide variety of types that can be grown in our area, including annual forage crops like silage corn, cereal grains, brassicas, and warm season grasses, as well as perennial hay and pasture. Whether conventional or organic, our forage research and outreach program is focused on assisting producers with supplying their lievstock with top quality home-grown feeds to improve herd health, soil quality and farm viability.
