For Farmers

AgConnect prioritizes farmers' research questions. When a farmer suggests an experiment, a researcher contacts them to discuss the details. Experiments can explore crop varieties, soil health, equipment, tillage practices, pest and disease management, and more!

Normally, research reports don’t tell a farmer whether the results are directly applicable to their farm. On-farm research does. By connecting with research professionals through AgConnect, farmers can bring research directly to their fields and make decisions based on data collected on site. Upon completing an on-farm experiment through AgConnect, each farmer receives a report tailored to their operation, so they know exactly what the research indicates for their farm.

Through AgConnect, farmers can:

  • Share their questions and suggest new experiments
  • Join experiments according to their practices and interests
  • Earn a stipend for use of their land, resources, time, and knowledge
  • Keep all their research protocols and other materials in one easy-to-navigate place
  • Receive assistance with experiment setup and data collection
  • Submit field data quickly and easily
  • Easily contact their research lead; they are just one click away
  • See results of local research, including how their data compare with that of other farmers in an experiment
  • Receive research reports directly as soon as they become available
