Professor Curran is a nationally certified speech-language pathologist with clinical expertise in Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC). She specializes in the diagnosis and evidence-based treatment of complex communication disorders, with a particular focus on dynamic AAC assessment and intervention across the lifespan.
Before joining the University of Vermont, Professor Curran worked as both a speech-language pathologist and an assistant behavior analyst, serving individuals with autism and other developmental disabilities. Her diverse experience spans clinical, school, home, and vocational settings, ensuring that her approach to care remains client- and family-centered, with a strong emphasis on functional and meaningful outcomes.
