Matthew is a macroecologist, and data scientist seeking to understand the mechanisms underpinning plant biodiversity responses to global environmental change. His research spans biotic scales ranging from genes to species to ecosystems. In addition to empirical studies, he develops modeling and visualization tools to help inform conservation and management.
