Biological Data Science (BilDS) Program for Doctoral Students

You Will Learn:

- A strong understanding of core concepts in evolution, ecology, and epidemiology
- Exposure to contemporary, real-world topics where modeling and predicting system disturbances are crucial
- Skill development for hypothesis and experimental design, and interdisciplinary teamwork and communications training

- Prerequisite: currently enrolled or incoming UVM Ph.D. students from the following fields and programs: mathematics and statistics, Rubenstein School of Environment and Natural Resources, biology, plant biology, plant and soil sciences, complex systems, computer science, and any other related fields or programs.
- Complete and submit a BilDS online application to apply for a traineeship.

The BilDS program assesses applications for the AY25-26 cohort on a rolling basis. To be given priority consideration, we recommend submitting your application by March 1, 2025. Applications received after this priority deadline will be evaluated based on the remaining capacity within our programs.
