The Department of Plant and Soil Science enjoys a strong reputation within the green industry and agricultural communities of Vermont and New England.

We work closely with industry groups and our students benefit from these longstanding connections. Our gradutes go on to positions with state and federal agencies, nonprofit organizations, educational institutions, and green commercial industries. Many are entrepreneurial business owners. Our academic programs are designed to provide a springboard for students, preparing them for a multifaceted career in our increasingly complex and changing field of land use and managment.

    After graduating from UVM in 2010, Josh started a simple landscape business that has morphed into a premier design company working with commercial clients, private residences, condominium communities and federal and state projects. Originally know as the Grass Gauchos, now known as Vermont Stone and Horticulture
