Getting Here
Your GPS may lead you astray on the way to Proctor. We recommend you start by navigating to Harvey Road in Underhill. If coming from the south, turn onto River Road off route 15 and drive just under 5 miles, through Underhill Center, until you reach Harvey Road on your right. If coming from the north, through Cambridge, you’ll be on Pleasant Valley Road, which turns into River Road, with Harvey Road on your left. Drive up Harvey Road and you will see Marvin Taylor Road on your right. Proctor is located at the end of Marvin Taylor Road.
Harvey Road and Marvin Taylor Road can be hazardous in snow. When in doubt, park at the bottom and walk up.
Parking
There are two parking areas on the property: one behind the maple production research facility and one along the side of the main laboratory building. The lot behind the maple production research facility can fit 4-5 cars, and the lot along the main laboratory building can hold 8-9 cars. Please fill in empty parking spots beginning in the lot behind the maple production research facility. If all spots are occupied, fill in the parking area along the side of the main laboratory building, but please don’t park under the roofline in winter in case of falling snow. Once both lots are full, visitors may park along the edge of Marvin Taylor Road. Vehicles should all be parked on one side of Marvin Taylor Road and not block the entrance to the sugarhouse or other facilities. It is essential that emergency vehicles can access the facilities at all times.
Note: When parking along Marvin Taylor Road during winter and mud season, be careful to avoid sinking in the snow. We will plow snow before events, when necessary, but soft snowbanks on the side of the road may pose a risk.
