BIO

Sofia (she/her) grew up in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada in Northern California. She earned her B.A. in Speculative Design with a minor in Urban Studies and Planning from UC San Diego in 2021. Before coming to UVM, she worked with a nonprofit delivering sustainability curriculum to public K–12 schools, leading garden classes and ensuring the harvest was shared equitably across the school community. She also served on the board of a local food recovery nonprofit. Sofia is excited to be on the East Coast and has been drawn to Burlington ever since her first visit, now happy to call it home. In her free time, she enjoys almost anything crafty—most recently knitting—and wandering through nature, hoping to stumble upon berries along the way.”
