City Market Supports Local Food Projects through Seedling Grant Program

As part of City Market's Patronage Refund process, the Co-op offers members the opportunity to donate their checks to strengthen Vermont’s food system. This year, uncashed patronage refund checks from members funded 5 local food projects from community organizations, including one that was awarded to Dr. Yolanda Chen, UVM Associate Professor in Plant and Soil Sciences, for establishing a swede midge damage threshold for brassica crops.

The Seedling Grant Committee is accepting grant applications once again this year for non-profit projects that strengthen the local food system. Applications will be accepted through Monday, June 27 at 5pm. Check their website for details.
