February 9, Noon-1:30 pm ET
In this session, participants will explore strategies to create the farm culture needed to effectively hire and retain the right employees for your farm. We'll consider the role clearly articulated farm values play in identifying the practical management systems needed to meet your farm's labor needs. We'll discuss tools such as organizational charts, position descriptions, and ways to communicate your farm culture in your recruiting materials and interviewing process. We'll also introduce some online tools and resources that can help you develop job descriptions and shape your interview process, and we'll will hear from farmers who have found successful solutions to today’s challenging labor market.
Note: This session will be an active, participatory learning session where we’ll talk through several employee management topics, share personal experiences, and work together to develop tangible outcomes.
