  • Beginner Chainsaw Use & Safety

    Women and Our Woods Vermont invites you to learn to be safe with a chainsaw! This course is designed to introduce the safe handling of a chainsaw, as well as boosting the confidence level of anyone who has very little or no experience with a saw. Topics covered: parts of a chainsaw, safety, bucking (cutting an already felled tree), and basic maintenance.

    This two-hour Zoom workshop is an online version of Labor-Movement's in-person movement workshop. There will be limited opportunity for movement practice during the session. Access to low- to no-cost resources will be made available. There will be time for Q&A, but no recordings will be available. Sliding scale from $0 to $30.

  • Athletes in Overalls: Injury Risk Management

    This four-session Zoom series will provide in-depth coverage of risk avoidance and management of musculoskeletal injuries. Information will include movement self-advocacy and considerations for implementing change within a farm's strategies. ​Sliding scale (no questions asked) from 0-$45.

  • Game of Logging Level I

    Women and Our Woods Vermont is hosting Game of Logging Level I. This class is the first in the series and focuses on introducing the participant to open face felling and the development of techniques for safe use. Topics covered include personal protective equipment, chainsaw safety features, chainsaw reactive forces, bore cutting, pre-planning cutting a tree, and understanding hinge wood strength. Each person in the class will cut down a tree.
