Service Operations Support (SOS)
Service Operations Support (SOS) is the center of communications for Physical Plant. SOS staff receive and process all service requests that are submitted by customers through the FAMIS system. FAMIS is an on-line Facilities Management application that is used for tracking all maintenance and operations within our department.
After a service request is submitted on-line, SOS staff evaluate the request, confirm that the proper budget is attached, and then assign the work to the appropriate crew or zone within Physical Plant. The crew or zone schedules the work based on priority level, and dispatches the appropriate personnel to respond. Customers may followup on Service Requests by contacting SOS and referencing the Service Request (SR) number.Students living on-campus should notify the Residence Hall Fix-It desk for problems in their residence halls.
