study area map

Located at the head of the Church Street Marketplace in downtown Burlington, Vermont, these blocks have gradually changed in character over the past two centuries. By tracing evidence of these changes, graduate students in the University of Vermont Historic Preservation Program's HP 206 Researching Historic Structures and Sites course conducted research using historic photographs, maps and archival records during the fall 2017 semester that is presented here as a public service as part of the Historic Burlington Project. Each student focused on the history of a section shown on this map.
