We are currently conducting a nationwide seach to fill the following position.

Assistant Professor of English
Assistant Professor of English, beginning fall 2010. 19th Century British Novel. Ph.D. in English with specialization in 19th century British novel.

Typical assignment includes one of the "gateway" courses for English majors ("Text and Context," a course in close reading and writing; or "Critical Approaches," an introduction to literary and cultural theory), introductory and advanced undergraduate courses and occasional M.A.-level seminars.

The successful candidate will be expected to undertake an active program of research or creative activity that leads to publication and presentation in peer-reviewed scholarly outlets.
