216th Commencement Ceremonies - May 20 and 21, 2017

Seating

Guest seating at the University Commencement Main Ceremony is open and available on a first come, first served basis. All seats are good seats. Jumbo screens are positioned at all venues so even those furthest away from the stage will have a good view of the ceremony.

Commencement ushers wearing yellow vests will be available to help guests into the seating area.

Guests needing assistance with FM hearing impaired devices, or who would like a commencement program in large print, Braille, and e-version, may be helped at the Assistive Listening Device Tent on the south end of University Green across from the Waterman Building. If the ceremony is moved indoors to the Multipurpose Facility it the Athletic Complex due to severe weather, the Assistive Listening Device booth will be located in the Multipurpose Facility on the house left side of the stage.

Students wearing regalia and participating in the academic procession will sit in the seating blocks on both sides of the center aisle (College of Arts and Sciences will be on the house right side of the center aisle, all other schools/colleges will be on the house left side). Faculty wearing regalia and participating in the academic procession will sit together in the center house left seating block, in front of the student section.

In the event of severe weather, the University Commencement Main Ceremony will be moved indoors to the Multipurpose Facility in the Athletic Complex. Tickets for guests will be required. Guests without tickets may view the ceremony on large screen displays on multiple floors of the Davis Center on the main campus. Students will sit in the center four seating sections. College of Arts and Sciences students will sit on the house left side of the center aisle, all other school/colleges will sit on the house right side.
