| the imperative (l'imperativo)
The IMPERATIVO is used to indicate commands and advice. It only exists in the present. Most of its forms are the same as the INDICATIVO PRESENTE. The main exception is the TU form of the verbs in ARE, which ends in "a" instead of "i." The other big difference to remember is the NEGATIVE of the TU form, which is formed with the infinitive.

Also, the imperativo of the formal "Lei" is the same as the congiuntivo presente, or present subjunctive.
Pronouns are usually attached to the end of the IMPERATIVO
Andiamoci! Non fatelo! Compramelo! Parlagli! (ma anche Parla loro!) Svegliati! Alziamoci!
With the IMPERATIVO NEGATIVO, the pronoun can be attached to the end of the IMPERATIVO or it can precede it.
Non andarci! o Non ci andare! - Non comprarmelo! o Non me lo comprare! - Non parlategli! o Non gli parlate
