Students choose one of three engineering disciplines (civil, electrical or mechanical) and follow a curriculum that combines courses in their chosen engineering discipline with studies in economics, accounting, quality control, decision analysis and other management concepts and techniques.

In their senior year, engineering management students undertake an independent project of their own selection, which involves the design of a solution to an engineering problem facing a real organization.
Working with a mentor from the organization generally an experienced professional with a direct interest in the project the student examines both engineering and management aspects of the problem while developing feasible solutions.
Organizations recently providing project opportunities for our students include IBM, Simmonds Precision, Martin Marietta, Champlain Cable Co., Belden Wire and Cable, and Fletcher Allen Health Care's Medical Center Hospital of Vermont.
