Students take engineering challenge

The challenge was this: design and build an arch out of sand and water. This good-natured competition came on the third day of the UVM Engineering Institute, which draws international and American secondary school students for a week's worth of engineering activities and lectures.

CEMS undergraduate students receive 2008 Barrett Scholarships for summer research

Thanks to The Barrett Foundation and the collaboration of the UVM College of Engineering and Mathematical Sciences (CEMS), seven undergraduate students are involved with research projects this summer. The purpose of this scholarship program is to provide prestigious, competitive awards to outstanding undergraduate engineers who wish to pursue a specific research project under the mentorship of a faculty member.
