Darren Hitt Receives Patent

Dr. Darren Hitt, Director of Vermont Space Grant Consortium/NASA EPSCoR, and Professor of Mechanical Engineering, has been awarded a US patent for research involving the performance optimization of micro-scale supersonic nozzles for miniaturized spacecraft. This patent, shared with collaborators in the School of Aeronautics & Astronautics at Purdue University, is entitled "Method of Enhancing Microthruster Performance" (US Patent 8,613,188 B2.
Dr. Hitt's research was supported by the NASA EPSCoR Research Group Program under NASA Cooperative Agreement #NNX08AZ07A.
