Franz Bernstein Ski Racing Magazine has named Franz Bernstein the 2010 “Male Collegiate Nordic Skier of the Year”. Bernstein, a sophomore majoring in engineering management in the UVM College of Engineering and Mathematical Sciences, is the first Catamount to win an individual national championship in the 20k freestyle at the 2010 NCAA Ski Championship since Vermont Hall of Famer Thorodd Bakken took a title in 1998. Bernstein makes UVM history by being the 8th male UVM Nordic skier to win a national championship.
