Engineering student Connor Tobin named to NSCAA Men's Soccer All-Northeast Region Team

Connor Tobin, mechanical engineering student in UVM's College of Engineering and Mathematical Sciences (CEMS) and member of the UVM Honors College, was selected to the 2008 National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Men's Soccer All-Northeast Region Second Team on Friday, December 12, 2008.
It is the second straight season Tobin has been named to an all-region team. Last year he was a third team selection in the Northeast Region that is made up of men's soccer programs in the America East, Ivy League as well as 10 Big East schools. He is one of 11 America East men's soccer players on the three all-region teams for 2008.
The NSCAA All-Region honor is one of several this season for Tobin, a senior back who had another excellent fall for the Catamounts. The 2008 America East Defender of the Year, he was named to the America East All-Conference First Team for the second consecutive season. An excellent student who is a member of UVM's Honors College, he was named to the 2008 ESPN The Magazine Men's Soccer Academic All-America First Team and was selected to the America East Men's Soccer All-Academic Team for the third year in a row.
Tobin helped lead Vermont to a 9-4-7 overall mark and a 4-1-3 record in conference play this past fall. He became the first Catamount be named to the America East All-Championship Team three times as the team reached the semifinals of the conference tournament for the third straight year.
