Emerging Science: New television series features Vermonters on the frontiers of science

Vermont Public Television (VPT) and Vermont EPSCoR (The Experimental Program to Stimulate Competitive Research) are partnering on a new television series called Emerging Science. It will feature Vermont scientists, including many faculty members of the College of Engineering and Mathematical Sciences (CEMS), conducting a diverse array of research and applied science projects.
The four-part series is set to premiere April 30th at 7:30 pm on Vermont Public Television.
As a lead-up to the broadcast premiere, a series of eight short weekly
podcasts on topics in the series will be available for downloading at
The newest podcast, available now, is "Remote Sensing of Mechanical Stress." Steve Arms, President of MicroStrain, Inc. in Williston, Vermont and member of the CEMS Board of Advisors, describes one example of remote wireless sensing.
