Morgan Horse Main Barn

Located in Weybridge, VT., the three-level main barn is the largest structure at UVM's Morgan Horse Farm.

Supported in part by a Save America's Treasures Grant administered by the National Park Service Department of the Interior as well as state and private donations, this project includes interior and exterior improvements at the UVM Morgan Horse Farm. The improvements have included the installation of a fire protection sprinkler system, a new fire alarm system, a chimney liner, fence replacements, structural repairs and bathroom renovations.

The main barn was built in 1878 by Colonel Joseph Battell of Middlebury and operated by the U.S. government beginning in 1907. The property is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is under the stewardship of the University of Vermont.
