Carrots are an important crop at Four Town Farmstand and Steve (or
his son, Chris) will explain to us how they do it.
2:00 pm: IMPROVED PEST MANAGEMENT THROUGH PERIMETER TRAP SYSTEMS
-Dr. Jude Boucher, University of Connecticut
A research grant report on the use of these systems for control
of pepper maggots and Colorado potato beetles on tomatoes and eggplant.
2:30pm: MY WORST NIGHTMARE
-Mario Marini, Ipswich
A report of an accident where a crop sprayer became disconnected
from the tractor, overturned and 200 gallons of herbicide were spilled
onto the highway.
2:45pm: PROBLEM WEEDS
-Dr. Richard Bonanno, University of Massachusetts
A discussion of problem weeds including Galinsoga, Nutsedge and
Velvet Leaf – identification and control
Two contact hours of pesticide recertification credit will be awarded for the entire day.
MINI TRADE SHOW
Commercial members of the NEVBGA are invited to set up exhibits
of their products or services.
Show and Tell: Several commercial members will also tell us about
their products or services.
