Gaylord Farm is located in Waitsfield, Vermont. Our mission is to provide the community with organically grown vegetables and exceptional all natural meats, and to offer the community an opportunity to learn about the uses and benefits of locally grown food.GAYLORD FARM
Our farm covers 600 acres of land (much of it is owned by second home owners or out of state folks who want their land kept open or in agriculture). 13 Acres is used to grow vegetables, supporting our 100-member CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) that we supply food to. We also sell our vegetables at a roadside stand summer through fall, and local restaurants, We attend two farmer’s markets, located in Waitsfield and Montpelier throughout the summer into the fall
Most of the 600 acres we farm is in pasture and hayland for about 250 head of beef cattle we own. Most of our cows are Angus and angus cross or Belted Galloway (also known as Oreo cookie cows) cattle. We feed our cattle to 'finish condition' and have them processed at an area facility, then retail our cuts from our farmstand year-round and at farmers' markets in summer and fall. These animals are primarily grass-fed.
