UVM's Institutional Policies Website
This website is a part of the University's Compliance Program which coordinates the publishing and archiving of University administrative policies. While the Office of Compliance Services is responsible for maintaining the policy website, responsibility for policy content resides with the responsible official, typically a University Vice President.
This site offers policies that have been through the official University policy development process (refer to the navigation links in the left border for the process requirements, definitions, etc). The left border also provides multiple tools to locate a policy or a group of related policies.
By establishing specific requirements for all members of the University community, policies connect the university's mission to individual conduct, institutionalize impartial expectations, support compliance with laws and regulation, mitigate institutional risk, and enhance productivity and efficiency in the university's operations.
A goal of the Office of Compliance Services is to simplify the understanding of the many external laws, regulations and internal policies that a University employee needs to follow to make good decisions.
