Walk 2016HRS offers resources and programs to support employees seeking to find a healthy balance in their professional and personal lives. What is Wellness?

“Wellness is defined as a dynamic process of becoming aware of and making conscious choices toward a more balanced and healthy lifestyle. In includes learning new life skills that address both the positive and negative aspects of human existence.” – The World Health Organization.

Wellness has also been defined as “a conscious, self-directed process of achieving full potential... encompassing lifestyle, mental and spiritual well-being, and the environment.” – The National Wellness Institute.

Why is Wellness important?

Sustaining an optimal level of wellness is vital for a high-qualify life. Optimal wellness is important in order to subdue stress, promote positive interactions, and reduce the risk of illness.
