| The goal of the IDEAS workgroup is to make use of advanced quantitative and computational methods to influence the decision making process and to convey knowledge and understanding to people. There are many models and methods already developed but most of the decisions are made with no reference to them. We think that it is not the models themselves that are important but rather it is the modeling process that can help understand the systems and make the right management choices.
In addition to advanced modeling tools we are developing procedures for interactive participatory research and decision making. Our projects are goal driven and applied.
